mentor (Auntie) invitation
Empower Young Women with TeTe Mentorship Program
We’re looking for emotionally grounded women who want to walk with nieces, not fix them.
TeTe’s House mentors (Aunties) show up as aunties, big sisters, and community members who are doing their own work and want to pour into the next generation. We care more about your willingness to grow, listen, and be consistent than about having a perfect story. If you’re passionate about preparation, boundaries, wellness, and helping girls and young women see what’s possible, there’s a place for you at TeTe’s House.

Why mentors (Aunties) matter

Many nieces are navigating money stress, family dynamics, school pressure, relationships, and identity questions at the same time. Having a consistent, caring adult who shows up week after week can change how they see themselves and what they believe is possible.
Mentors (Aunties) offer representation, language, and tools—not by saving nieces, but by standing with them as they practice new skills and make real-life choices. Your presence, story, and stability can be part of breaking cycles and building confidence.
What being a mentor (Auntie) looks like
Presence
Showing up consistently for weekly or regular circles and special workshops.
Modeling
Modeling healthy boundaries, self-care, and communication.
Partnership
Partnering with TeTe’s House staff and parents to support each niece’s growth.
Space
Listening more than you speak, and creating space for nieces’ voices.
Co-learning
Growing in your own money habits, life skills, and wellness as you walk with nieces.
Requirements & process
Mentors (Aunties) complete an application, interview, background check, and orientation before being matched with a circle or role. We look for women who are emotionally grounded, open to feedback, and aligned with our values of safety, preparation, and community care. Time commitments vary by role, and we’ll talk through what’s realistic for you before you begin.

You’re not doing this alone
We take mentor (Auntie) support seriously. At TeTe’s House, you’ll receive training on topics like trauma awareness, boundaries, communication, and our 5-pillar model. You’ll have staff and fellow mentors (Aunties) alongside you so you’re never carrying the work by yourself.
- Regular check-ins and heart-centered debriefs
- Safe spaces for mentors (Aunties) to process emotions
- Continuous training in community care
- A village of support for every mentor (Auntie)
